The second hosting city in our series is the city of Somerton, Arizona. We're absolutely thrilled and grateful to all of the city leaders and support staff of Somerton. Steeped in rich history, the city of Somerton remains at the center of agriculture production in the Yuma Valley. Pride runs deep in the southern Arizona border town, and we're certain you will love it!
Somerton was established in 1898 and incorporated in 1918. Somerton's economy is based on agriculture, medical services, and tourism. Known for their expansive and well-attended city events, they bring in crowds from around the Yuma region. The Tamale Festival, Corn Festival, Ag to Art Market, Petapalooza, Light Parade, Cinco de Mayo, 4th of July, and the Somerton Greater Days are just a few of the events Somerton is well known for. Teaming up with their neighboring city, San Luis, Somerton is also known for the family bike rides (such as the 2018 ride in the video above).
